Trying to smile
When your dying inside
Barbed wire under your skin
A knife in your back
Gashes on your wrists
Blood running down your arms
Dripping from your elbows
You feel like tearing out your hair
One handful at a time
Pain is never glory
Being human a curse
Tears burn your eyes
Like acid
You forget for one moment
And its all gone
Only to return
Your toes are icy cold
As you taste the salt
Staining your cheeks
And you feel the hopelessness
Its hard to breathe
You hope to die
Its easy
You just have to hold your breath
Long enough

One moment
It was not a time for
Questions
Or for answers
For that matter
One second ago
Life was sweet
And now
That it is past
The future looks
Bleak

Don't Chuck the Dragon
I am DYING to read 'Chucking the dragon' by Mark Wilde. The element of mystery surrounding the author and his work is proving to be irresistable. It's true that such books are aplenty in the West but as this book is claimed to be written by a Sri Lankan author, I am very curious. Hope to get my hands on it soon!

Fire
The cycle of life and destruction continues
It spreads through every heart
Scorching every vein
Engulfed in pain
To heal
But forever to bear
The pain
The burden of pain
It spreads through every heart
Scorching every vein
Engulfed in pain
To heal
But forever to bear
The pain
The burden of pain

Power
Yes, Power is very addictive. Recently, an infestation of an army of ants in our yard brought a request by disgruntled inhabitants of my home to practice tough love by exterminating them on sight. After exhausting many cans of repellent (or Liquid Death), there was just one tiny ant running across my foot. I had Power. Power to kill or to let it live. I was the supreme dealer of death or mercy to that tiny life. An intoxicating reality, but saddening. How would you use your Power?
